Time certainly seems to fly, especially when you are doing some interesting work. In this newsletter I’ll highlight a couple of new services that I am working on and some advantages of local hosting you may not be aware of.

Hosting in Australia

Did you realise that by hosting in Australia, Google will automatically include your website in their Australian search engine when they index your website?

This was highlighted to me when my wife and I were looking for renovation material. We were aware of a place in Brisbane called the Renobarn and googled it with the search narrowed to show only Australian sites - it didn't show up! Try it. Their website is hosted overseas. Think of all the potential Australian customers this business is losing!

Email Plus

Avanti Hosting have implemented a new Email Plus service using Zimbra. This Email Plus service allows you to synchronize your Outlook emails, calendar items, contacts, and tasks with your Email Plus account.

Once synchronised, your Email Plus account allows you to access all your emails, calendar items, contacts, and tasks even when you are not in front of your work computer. Email Plus does this by synchronising with your Outlook and many types of smart phones. You can even access all your data online using the Email Plus service web site and all your data is presented in way that looks just like Outlook. You’ll never be locked out of your vital information again.

Off-site Backup

I am sure you are backing up your data diligently. With your backup, do you use tapes, or blank DVDs? Is your backup kept off-site?
